Fiona Terrington
The seemingly idyllic countryside that surrounds us now is under constant pressure for change, from developers for housing, for land for the production of food, for the development of industry, together with a need for recreational space and for conservation of landscape and habitats.
I want through my use of images in my painting to prompt thought about the fate of the countryside in a time where sustained thought is made increasingly difficult due to the continuous intrusion of idealized images of the countryside and country life from the various media sources that we surround ourselves with.
My sculpture explores the relationship between the object and the space and light which surround it and how the union of these elements affect the viewer.
