Examples from my portfolio.

Enclosure by Joss Goodchild

My paintings reference the East Anglian fens and involve ongoing observations of patterns created by human intervention on the landscape.

Through colour, awareness of land geometrics and agricultural rhythms the border between abstraction and figuration is explored. I use a restricted palette and reductive detail to create restrained paintings of confined landscapes. Paint handling and surface are important but these are subdued.  However simplified the paintings must retain their sense of place.

Series of 12, Oil on canvas. 18″ x 14″ each.
