Kelly Wadsworth
Here is a selection of work that I have helped design, as part of a team of three with Mark Lanham and Sarah Channing-Wright. The brief here was to create a new identity for the Cambridge School of Art degree show 2010. With that we needed to design all the relevant publicity material and signage to promote the show. We first had to come up with a suitable typeface and composition for the type, we placed a small line under the ‘of’ to give a subtle sense of history from an Arts and Crafts typeface. Then the idea of using diamonds came in after I noticed that the Ruskin building had diamond stonework above the main entrance of it, linking nicely with the dot of the ‘i’ in our chosen typeface, Fedra.
- CSA Typographic Identity
- Auction Poster in Shop Window
- Bidding Cards
- Bidding Card at Auction
- Bidding Cards at Auction
- Degree Show Invitation (back)
- Envelopes for Invitations
- Degree Show Poster
- Design for Directional Signage
- Degree Show 2010 Banner
Some of the material we produced included invitations, envelopes, posters, magazine adverts, flyers and brand guidelines. We took the brief further than what was expected of us and made auction posters and bidding cards for the art auction last month in aid of the degree show.
I feel a real sense of achievement from this project and am glad to have had the opportunity to be part of something like this. It’s been a massive challenge but a really enjoyable one that has taught me much about the importance of good communication and team work. I would love an opportunity to do something like this again!

I think its great how the stonework influenced the designs and what a happy coincidence that Bilak’s Fedra Sans with its diamond point links so well with it too! A great effort guys, all your hard work has paid off!
Postscript… How many times did Kelly walk through the entrance to the Ruskin Gallery before she had that light bulb moment?
