Softouch – Android mobile OS User Interface Design
Softouch UI is a new User Intreface design approach primarily for the Android mobile operating system with possibilities for cross-platform implementation.
This proposal aims to redesign and rethink the most important UI elements, offering a better and more coherent UI that could be applied to handsets of various sizes and technical specifications. Softouch UI has been designed with the next generation of Android OS and handsets in mind. It does away with the traditional grid-based icon system and introduces a new 3D Cube live widget central hub.
Gone is also the conventional single screen structure in applications. A tabbed architecture for easier and quicker access and navigation has been implemented. Now, a new option is only a swipe away.
I strived to create a fresh, coherent, innovative and evolutionary step in Android user interface design that incorporates many of the ideas in use in other areas but adapted for touch navigation and smaller screen size.
Final outcome is threefold:
- User Interface design
- print booklet
- on-line presentation
