Abigail Stevens
I am interested in a wide range of work, in particular editorial and book covers but expanding into other areas such as album design and interior book illustrations. My degree show displays my work in book cover design, but my portfolio will also be on display to show my editorial and other work.
My working process involves rigorous exploration of ideas and compositions through an obsessive use of thumbnails in my sketchbook. Finished work is a combination of digital and traditional elements including; scanned hand-drawn line work and patterns, found textures and flat digital colours. My work is characterized by the use of simple and strong composition, combined with clear ideas and the use of both textures and flat colour to draw the eye.
