The practice degrees in graphic design continue to produce often outstanding, and sometimes notably exquisite work. The course generates designers of merit, and this year this was recognised when a recent graduate of Graphic Design was nominated for, and received a BAFTA award as part of a design team producing innovative graphics in computer gaming. We have in recent years also, achieved a reputation for accomplished typography, editorial and book design - and once again this is much in evidence within the final year students major projects. We naturally look forward to appreciating this work en masse when it is displayed in rooms adjoining the Ruskin Gallery within the Degree Show for 2010.
Equally impressive are this years degree show promotions, created and managed by a small team of third year designers. Producing for the first time, a bespoke typographic and web design presence for the Cambridge School of Art at Anglia Ruskin University. I congratulate them, and all our students. Wishing them every success for their future careers in design industry and the graphic arts.
