Congratulations are due to the 3rd year Fine Art students at Anglia Ruskin University for an excellent 2012 Degree Show. This website documents their work and provides further evidence of their ability.
These students have worked hard while studying in Cambridge and by the final year have developed a distinct character and personality for their Fine Art practice. The exhibition takes place in the art studios of the Ruskin Building that have been transformed beyond recognition especially for the degree show installations.
The space in which art is made or exhibited is often critical to its success, and a degree show allows Fine Art students the chance to develop ambitious projects that are the culmination of several years of study. This year we have installations of sculpture, mixed media and video, and a variety of approaches to painting, drawing and print. There is great diversity and an eclectic range of influence that reflects an engagement with the most exciting aspects of contemporary art. I should also highlight how these students have been supporting each other through the course, working collaboratively on projects whilst flourishing as artists and developing as individuals.
It has been a pleasure to watch this group develop over past three years. Some have changed beyond recognition, as they have grown in confidence and built clear identities for their studio practice. I wish them every success in their future careers.
