Hi Jane,
Just to say that I greatly enjoyed your work at the degree show.
Its wonderful to see such skill creating great dynamic effect
without having to resort to meaningless concepts to explain the work.
Refreshing to see visual art that is just that.

Thanks

My question is: what emphasis if any is placed on the teaching of drawing at this art school. I am interested because I was at the art school in 1952 and realise of course that a student's experience must be very different now.

Thank you in advance if you feel you can reply to this, it is really directed at the relevant staff member.

The Asaro Mudmen depicted make me feel I could be taking an arrow at any moment- I can see him sneaking up, bare bottom and scary weird mask all doing their required bit to frighten the life out of little western me! If u didn't have gifts and an acceptable translator...! That Bugamo Skeltal guy makes me think, 'has he really given up eating 'long pig'?'. I wouldn't wanna bet my life on it! I like it when a piece art manages to make me 'feel', an gets me thinking deeper. Makes me wanna have a look at more of Karin Stamar's work. Where do I go for further viewing please?

I am VERY happy; I managed to obtain a good photo of Karin's piece based on Aboriginal People's tribal Art. It's beautiful and I absolutely adore it! I heard she also completed a canvas of her take on Maori Art, can't wait to see it! A very exciting and addictive Artist, are there prints for sale?

There are things in this world which i would never understand and one of them is fashion. the latest trends and happenings in the fashion world should be brought to the knowledge of people through the advertising and other media. However, what i find disgusting is the pressure put on people (especially young ones) to buy into that fashion. Fashion is something extremely personal and what looks good on me does not necessarily look good on you. Then how and why is one pressurized into buying the latest jeans or skirt ( because is trendy). People are individuals and should treat themselves as such. What young people need to understand is that the fashion and clothes are just accessories to make them feel better - feel is the keyword here. It does not matter how other perceive you ( most of the time this is true), but what is more important is that how the clothes make you feel. So i urge you to ditch the latest fashion if you are following it just because it is least.

The pearly queen is at once beautiful, yet tragic. The native' pearly' families are being replaced by newer people to England; its an earner. The pearl patterns originally were a display of the artistic and professional abilities of the wearer. Like a walking advertisement of their skill, it gained them commissions. Soon that too will be gone, replaced as the original inhabitants of East End were. It makes me nostalgic, end of an era. Look forward to seeing more!

Truly a Hitchcock moment when I first saw these pictures. There is lots of movement and colour in a scene that really, is quite depressing; all that waste sitting less than a mile from my street door. Will this site in the future bring the human vultures down, like those of the waste tips used by the Victorians? Looking over them for the little gems that we of today will pay a lot of money for, because they are antiques. If so, these pictures are a snapshot of both the present and what will be the past. Love the subject as it is very thought provoking for me and the way they are framed. Delly-man (AKA your proud Dad)

What amazing work.

In the three shots shown above, I think the photography truly shows the amount of sheer waste there is, captured in these realistic images. This gives the public a much needed insight into the exhorbitant amount of items wasted today that find their way into recycling centres. The shocking realism of this works within the depths of these three images. To capture images like these takes an exceptional amount of hard work. Who wants to climb over recyling centres for fun? These images have been taken with feeling and a passion to show communities the hard work that goes on within this field.

On a personal note I would like to say that seeing this work for the first time, as her mother, I am particularly proud of the young lady named above who has achieved this. Well done my darling .

Your paintings are truly unique & really demonstrate an ability to capture the essence of the inner character of each person. The pearly Queen has the look of a woman that has been through much in her life, whilst the Huli looks ready for some action. I have enjoyed seeing your work and especially like the painting of the Huli Wigman. I do hope there will be many more to come..!
